Vintage Cannes Styles
The Cannes Film Festival kicks off today and a few events have been held already, but before we get a look at all the usual Haute Couture dress and million dollar gems, here's a look at a few fashion gems from the history of Cannes.
Brigitte Bardot was always a head-turner at Cannes and probably not more so than when she donned a two-piece bikini ( a very skimpy one for '50s standards).
Ginger Rogers and Diana Dors pictured back in 1956 wearing white lace that would be very on trend at the moment.
In 1955 Sophia Loren made the most of her famed curves in a white sweetheart dress.
Grace Kelly might have been movies' greatest princess but Elizabeth Taylor certainly looked like one, wearing her Cartier tiara to the festival in 1957.
Not only did Brigitte Bardot help popularise the bikini, she also did the same with ballet flats; and in another Cannes look she showed them off, plus quite a bit more.
